Finding the one that fits you, not the one that sounds best.
The idea that works is almost never the one that sounds most impressive. It is the one your kid will still be doing in three weeks.
Most kids reach for something big and vague, an app or a clothing brand, because those are the businesses they have heard of. The ones that actually get off the ground are smaller, more ordinary, and built on something the kid can already do on a Saturday. Sophie did not invent anything. She noticed that people throw away clothes that are still worth money.
Fit matters more than potential at this stage. A kid who would rather be left alone to make things will quietly stop doing a business built on knocking on doors, no matter how good it looks on paper.
Five questions about age, budget, time, and what they actually like doing. Four matched ideas at the end, free.
